The space’s story

1528 Webster’s original design was meant to encourage teamwork, a spirit we built back in when we opened it for coworking in 2018. Our vision was to bring diverse people and organizations together in a space that celebrated collaboration, innovation and the Oakland community.

We knew good ideas and great work days would happen in this environment. Where you’d see more than just a few coworkers a day and could find advice, friends and something fun to do in the place you spend hours a week.

We were right, and the success of 1528 is all in the people who have joined, built companies, changed industries and always give back to this neighborhood and our community. If you want to learn more about what it’s like to work here, I’d love to introduce you to some of them.
